Passengers are requested to direct all queries for lost/leftover baggage/items to the parties mentioned above.

 

Restrictions on Liquids, Aerosols and Gels in Cabin Baggage (LAGs)

Pursuant to the Aviation Security Directive (ref 03 of 2008), Liquids, Aerosols & Gels with a maximum container capacity of 100 ml to be placed in a re-sealable plastic bag with maximum capacity of 1 Litre will be accepted. Accordingly all originating passengers arriving to SSR Int airport are informed that in no circumstances will any oversized LAGS (in excess of 100 ml) be accepted in the Cabin Baggage irrespective of these LAGS being placed in sealed transparent plastic bag (Security Tamper Evident Bag - STEB).

In the event of passengers disembarking an Aircraft due to Technical problem, the following will apply:

  1. Upon passengers going through Transit Screening Point, their oversized LAGS will be exceptionally allowed as this represents a temporary controlled movement of passengers back to the Sterile Area pending their imminent departure.
  2. In case the flight is being cancelled and passengers proceed to hotel, aircraft operators shall arrange for all oversized LAGS including duty free purchases to be sent in the aircraft hold.

 

“In Gauge” Baggage

The Baggage Handling System is able to handle automatically In-Gauge Baggage with dimensions set out below:

MAXIMUM

  • Width 70 cm
  • Length 90 cm
  • Height 50 cm
  • Weight 50 kg

MINIMUM

  • Width 15 cm
  • Length x Width x Height = 60 cm
  • Weight 5 kg
  • Baggage whose dimensions comply with the above but that may present a particular shape or material and accordingly may increase the risk of jamming the system are considered as "non-conveyable" and accordingly processed manually as Out-Of-Gauge.

 

“Out Of Gauge” Baggage

Baggage beyond maximum In Gauge Baggage dimensions will be called Out Of Gauge Baggage. They will be handled manually. Their maximum dimensions are set at (as per IATA ADRM):

MAXIMUM

  • Width 60 cm
  • Length 250 cm
  • Height 150 cm
  • Weight 70 kg
  • Note: Baggage whose dimension is beyond maximum OOG bag dimensions will be considered as Cargo and accordingly will be rejected.

 

Filming and Photographing at Airport

Filming and photographing of the terminal building, airport compound, airplane, car park, shops, and any part of the airport is prohibited.

 

Access to New Passenger Terminal

Anyone requiring access in the airport controlled and restricted zones should have a valid reason and should make an official request at the Department of Civil Aviation directly or through the appropriate organisation for onwards recommendation to have an access permit.
