Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) – Public Health Measures Applicable to Air Travel to Mauritius

 

The Department of Civil Aviation of Mauritius has issued updated public health measures applicable to air travel to Mauritius in relation to Ebola Virus Disease (EVD), effective from 08 June 2026 until further notice.

Pursuant to the Public Health Act and in accordance with measures implemented by the Ministry of Health and Wellness, the following requirements apply to passengers travelling to Mauritius:

Airlines shall not board or carry to Mauritius any passenger who has departed from, travelled to, or transited through the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda or South Sudan during the preceding twenty-one (21) days, except as specified below.

Mauritian citizens who have departed from, travelled to, or transited through the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda or South Sudan during the preceding twenty-one (21) days shall be permitted to travel to Mauritius. Upon arrival, such passengers shall be subject to quarantine, medical assessment and monitoring by the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

Non-citizens who have departed from, travelled to, or transited through the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda or South Sudan during the preceding twenty-one (21) days shall be permitted to travel to Mauritius only if they hold valid documentary evidence of:

  • a Residence Permit;

  • an Occupation Permit;

  • a Work Permit;

  • a Student Permit;

  • a Permit as Spouse of a Mauritian Citizen; or

  • a Premium Visa.

Upon arrival, such passengers shall be subject to quarantine, medical assessment and monitoring by the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

All passengers travelling to Mauritius are required to complete and present the prescribed All-in-One Health Declaration Form prior to boarding their flight to Mauritius.

Passengers are strongly advised to verify their eligibility to travel with their airline prior to departure.

These measures remain in force until further notice.
